1 LUNCH AT
We at Pharm deliver much more than school lunches. We offer home cooked meals made from scratch that are meant to nourish your children and serve as an educational tool. By introducing your child to a “food culture”, we can teach them how, why and what to eat just like they are taught to read. Instead of one letter at a time, one bite at a time. Imagine, your kids eating whole foods that are packed with flavor and variety!
The French culture inspired my vision as a mother, educator and chef to broaden the palettes of our school-aged kids. According to the French, children can and will eat real food if they are given the opportunity. As children take advantage of these opportunities, they are developing lifelong eating habits that influence the choices they make later. Choices we hope will lead to healthier, happier and longer lives for our future generations.
Our school lunches give your children a broad range of main dishes, fresh vegetables, and fruits. We use flavorful and healthy ingredients, family recipes, creativity and experience to craft a lineup of can’t be beat wholesome, well-balanced, tasty lunches made from scratch. We will support you, as parents, in teaching children about healthy food culture and encourage school lunch to be a highlight of their day.
Cooking has always been a passion of mine. It started with my Mom.
Growing up in a Manhattan housing project to a Puerto Rican mother and a Scandinavian/Italian father, I was always taught to be resourceful. My mother believed that cooking trumped any outing to a restaurant. And boy did she cook. Rich flavors and recipes that were passed down through generations of Puerto Ricans, Africans, and Taino Indians (all of which comprised my mother’s heritage). By age 11, I knew the proper preparation for Achote and that food was a complex mix of flavors, textures and most importantly, Love.
For years, I have cooked for children, including 300 organic, three course lunches for the Santa Rosa French American Charter School. I want to bring this breadth of experience and my love of cooking to your school.
My food draws from different cultural influences creating a diversity of tastes without compromising the healthy benefits.
